Naperville, Ill. (Nov. 24th, 2021) - To extend their conference dual winning streak to 28 duals, the North Central College men's wrestling program took down the Augustana College Vikings inside Gregory Arena for their first home dual of the year.
Nine of the ten Cardinal wrestlers came out victorious tonight as four men's wrestlers were able to pin their opponent in the evening.
Robert Precin battled to a decision win over Trevor Boryla (12-5) to remain undefeated on the year. Next, Caleb Magruder won a close match over Kameron Hanel (11-8) to give the Cardinals the overall team score lead just three matches into the dual.
Alex Villar and Cole Cervantes would help cushion the lead as Villar was able to win by major decision in his match and Cervantes pinned his opponent two minutes and eight seconds into the match.
Freshman, Payton Geigner and Joseph Jens would continue their freshman campaign with major decision wins to extend the Cardinal lead. Geigner currently holds a 7-3 record overall on the season, while Jens is currently 8-2 on the season.
Jack Hominac, Elijah Brockie, and Robby Bates closed out the night in style as all three Cardinals pinned their opponents to finish off the Vikings.
