Cardinals Dominate Vikings in First Dual Meet

Nov. 24, 2021 - In their first home meet of the 2021-22 season, the North Central College women's wrestling team defeated the Augustana College Vikings 40-5 in a dual meet inside Gregory Arena. 

Starting off the dual, Amber Turner, Sarah Frost and Angelina Graff all earned forfeit wins in the 109, 116 and 123-pound weight classes giving the Cardinals an early 15-0 lead on the Vikings. The 130 pound match featured Flora Vizi who pinned her opponent in 17 seconds to give the Cardinals a 20-0 lead. 

North Central would win the next three matches as Raena Schledwitz, Skyy Hills and Shelby Ottum would all pin their opponents giving the Cardinals a 35-0 lead heading into the final two matches. Sadie Hill would fall to Sawyer Graham of Augustana in the 170-pound weight class bringing the score to 35-4 and Alondra Aguayo would finish off the dual with a forfeit win to give the Cardinals a 40-4 victory over the Vikings. 

In exhibition matches, Emma Grimm and Halle White earned two wins and Hills, Jordan Johnston, Saleen Doblado and Hana Richter all earned wins in their respective weight classes. 

The Cardinals are back in action on Thursday, December 2nd as they travel to Kenosha, Wis. to take on the Carthage College Firebirds in a dual meet. The matches are set to start at 6:30 pm inside Tarble Arena.
