2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Scholar All-Region Teams

Johnny Kraemer was named to the First Team of the United Soccer Coaches North/Central All-Region team this afternoon.
United Soccer Coaches recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the season of nomination of current student-athletes at two-year and four-year institutions.Student-Athletes receive this award by having at least a 3.40 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while also playing a minimum of 75 percent of games during their season. Only Juniors and Seniors can be recognized on the Scholar All-Region and All-American teams.
The Cardinals have had six players earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honors in program history as Michaell Curtis (2010 and '11), Ryan Carroll (2011), Michael Lenzi (2011), Jon Borzick (2016 and '17), Gavin Sanchez (2017 and '18) and Alexis Flores (2018) were selected for North Central.
Kraemer, a Finance major from Oswego, Ill, posted a 3.44 GPA while starting 21 games for the Cardinals. Kraemer tallied six goals for the Cardinals this season, five of his goals came off penalty kicks where he was a perfect five for five this season. Kraemer led the Cardinal defense that only allowed ten goals on the season which is the lowest goals allowed in program history. Kraemer helped the Cardinals post an 18-2-1 record which is the best in program history and remain unbeaten for 14 consecutive games which is the longest streak for a single season.
Other College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) players named on the All-Region team were Gustav Ericsson and Peder OIsen of North Park University who also received First Team honors.
North Central finished the season with a 18-2-1 (6-1-1 CCIW) record earning themselves the No. 2 seed in the CCIW tournament where they won their first ever CCIW Championship sending them to their first NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals ended the year ranked 14th in the D3 Soccer National Rankings and 5th in the United Soccer Coaches Region VIII Rankings.
