2021 United Soccer Coaches Division III Men's Soccer All-American Team
Dec. 2, 2021 - After being named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-Region team on Monday,
Johnny Kraemer and
Sid Marquardt were recognized on the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-American teams.
Kraemer and Marquardt are the first players to earn All-American honors in program history and they are the first All-Americans that head coach Enzo Fuschino has coached in his career.
Kraemer, a Junior from Oswego, Ill, earned First-Team honors. He led the Cardinal defense that only allowed ten goals the entire season and earned a team record of 14 shutouts in a single season. Kraemer started all 21 games this season scoring six goals and one assist while scoring five of his six goals on penalty kicks. Kraemer earned CCIW First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region honors.
Marquardt, a Sophomore from Hartland, Wis. earned Second-Team honors. In net this season, he posted a 14-2-1 record tallying 63 saves and only allowing nine goals on the season. Marquardt leads the country and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in shutouts this season with 12. He is ranked eighth in the country in goals against average (0.461) and save percentage (0.875). Marquardt earned CoSIDA Academic All-District, CCIW First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors.
Other CCIW recipient's were North Park's Peder Olsen and Gustav Ericsson, who earned Third-Team All-American honors. This is the third time in Olsen's career that he has earned these honors.
This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at the Kansas City Convention Center in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
North Central finished the season with a 18-2-1 (6-1-1 CCIW) record earning themselves the No. 2 seed in the CCIW Tournament where they secured their first CCIW Championship in program history and their first bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals ended the year ranked 14th in the National Rankings and 5th in the United Soccer Coaches' Region VIII Rankings.
