Results 

Dec. 5, 2021 - Competing in their third dual meet of the season, the North Central College women's wrestling team remained unbeaten, taking down the Warriors of Indiana Tech 38-7 this afternoon inside Gregory Arena. 

The matches started with a 101-pound contest between Kate Cacho and Sydney Kutzke, Kutzke would pin Cacho giving the Warriors an early 5-0 lead. In the 109-pound weight class, Sydney Petzinger would defeat Riley Horvath by a 10-0 technical fall bringing the score to 5-4. Kendra Ryan would give the Cardinals a 8-5 lead after defeating Korigan Wilkey by a 10-0 technical fall.

In the 123-pound weight class, Amani Jones would extend the lead to seven as she defeated her opponent, Emma Jones, by a 10-0 technical fall. Niya Teresita Gaines would take on Allyssa Pirro in the 130-pound weight class and Gaines would win by a 12-1 technical fall extending the lead to 16-6. Sara Sulejmani would get in on the action and win by a 10-0 technical fall over Charmayne Delong to put the Cardinals up 20-6 heading into the final four matches. 

In the 143-pound weight class, Kim Nunez would take on Carley Anderson and would win by a 11-1 technical fall putting the Cardinals up 24-7. Shelby Ottum (155) would pin Maia Crumb with one second remaining on the clock, giving the Cardinals five more points and a 29-7 lead. Yelena Makoyed took on Grace Doering in a 170-pound contest, taking out Doering with a 10-0 technical fall. Traeh Haynes would pin opponent, Perla Ramirez, in the first round to finish off the dual meet and give the Cardinals a 38-7 win over the Warriors. 

In exhibition matches, Angelina Graff, Brooke Crawley, Mateah Roehl, Dakota Drew, Halle White, Flora Vizil, Emma Grimm, Yele Aycock and Fiona McConnell all earned wins in their respective weight classes.  

The Cardinals return to the mat on Saturday, Dec. 11 as they host the North Central College Open inside Residence Hall/Recreation Center. The matches are set to start at 9:00 am.
