Westerberg Earns Academic All-American Honors

2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American Teams 

Dec. 8, 2021 - North Central College men's soccer player Aidan Westerberg has been named to the 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-American Third Team, nominated and voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Westerberg was one of 35 players in NCAA Division III selected to the All-American Teams and was one of seven players to have a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA). Westerberg was the only member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to earn these honors and the first player in program history to earn Academic All-American honors. 

Westerberg, a BioChem major from Belvidere, Ill. earned the CCIW Elite 25 award which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating in the championship for each of the CCIW's 25 championships. Westerberg also was a part of the Academic All-District team while earning second-team All-CCIW. Westerberg started and played in 18 games this season tallying four goals and five assists. 

North Central College was one of five schools to have a women and men soccer player nominated for the award and was one of two schools to have both players have a 4.0 GPA.
