The North Central College women's basketball team fell to 0-5 on the season in a lopsided 77-52 loss at the hands of Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday inside Gregory Arena.

The Cardinals never led in the contest, as the Titans (1-1) scored the game's first seven points and never looked back, as North Central managed just six points in the opening quarter to fall behind 20-6.

North Central pulled to within 10 points of the lead with 0:48 to play in the second quarter, as a jumper from Elle Sutter cut the Illinois Wesleyan lead 33-23.

That proved to be as close as the Cardinals would come the remainder of the contest, as the Titans led by double figures the rest of the way at one point leading by as many as 31 in the fourth quarter.

Illinois Wesleyan shot just under 45% from the field including 8-of-18 from three-point range, to the Cardinals' 25% shooting from the field while shooting just 4-of-24 from beyond the arc.

Rebekah Foley was the leading scorer for North Central with eight points, followed by seven from Allison Pearson and six from Mitrese SmithIxChel Leeuwenburgh led all players with a career-high 16 rebounds off the bench, while Pearson tallied a game-high six assists.

Three Titans finished in double figures, led by 16 points from Kendall Sosa, while Brooke Lansford and Samantha Munroe each added 12.  Lansford also paced the Titans with seven rebounds and five assists, while Sosa nabbed four steals on defense.
