CHICAGO, ILL (Apr. 22nd, 2021) - Following a three-hit loss in game one, the Cardinals offense exploded for seven runs in the second game as North Central split the doubleheader against North Park at Holmgren Athletic Complex on Thursday evening.

Picher Gianna Corban kept the Vikings hitless through the first three innings. In the bottom of the fourth, North Park used a single followed by an RBI triple to bring the first run of the game across the board. The Cardinals put a two-out rally together in the top of the fifth as Alexa Sherlund singled down the right-field line, followed by a Katie Del Re walk, but Rachael Feazelle worked out of the jam and earned her eighth win of the season.

In game two, the Vikings struck first by posting two runs on three hits in the top of half of the inning. Following a scoreless second, Emily Miller hit an RBI single to extend her hitting streak 14-games.

The Cardinals broke the game open in the fourth inning as Samantha Gadomski took advantage of a Vikings error to knot the game at two, allowing Allison Lambert to score. Del Re, Jaime Smith, and Miller hit three straight singles as North Central took a 5-2 lead. That following inning, Del Re doubled down the left-field line to score Amanda Martinez and Elena Stevenson. Corban came in relief and shut the Vikings down as North Central won 7-3.

North Central returns home to Shanower Family Field on Saturday as they look to win their 11th and 12th conference games of the season. You can find links to full in-game coverage HERE.
