2020-21 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

July 19, 2021 – Awarded for their prowess in the classroom, the North Central College women's volleyball team earned the Team Academic Award for the second straight season on Monday, presented by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
 
The team academic award has been presented since the 1992-93 academic year and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
 
This marks the fourth Team Academic Award for the program, also earning the distinction in 2012-13, 2017-18, 2019-20, and 2020-21.
 
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was represented by seven of the nine institutions, as Augustana College, Carroll University, Carthage College, Elmhurst College, Millikin University, and Wheaton College join the list of 233 NCAA Division III institutions honored last season, an all-time record for NCAA Division III.
 
North Central is set to kick off the 2021 season on Wednesday, Sept. 1 inside Gregory Arena, hosting Concordia University Chicago at 7 p.m.
