United Soccer Coaches Release
Sept. 24, 2021 - The North Central College men's soccer team has been selected as a 2020-2021 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winner. The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced the award today.
To earn this award, the program must have a team grade-point average of a 3.0 or higher during the past academic year. 220 men's and 382 women's programs were a part of the list. North Central was a part of 90 other programs to have both their men's and women's programs earn this award.
The Cardinals achieved a 3.47 GPA last year to earn this award. In 2019 the Cardinals had an overall record of 11-5-3 while being 6-2-0 in conference. They finished second in the CCIW regular season earning them a spot in the CCIW tournament. The Cardinals are 9-0-0 this season heading into conference play, this is the second longest winning streak in program history since the 1987 season.
Other CCIW men's programs to receive the award are Illinois Wesleyan University and North Park University
The Cardinals (9-0-0) open up conference play as the host Elmhurst University tomorrow night. The match is set to start at 6:30 pm inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Click
