Oct. 11, 2022 - After taking down two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) opponents this past week and extending their unbeaten streak to 13 games, Jaziel Enriquez of the North Central College men's soccer team earned CCIW offensive player of the week while teammate Sid Marquardt was honored as the CCIW defensive player of the week, the conference announced Tuesday. 

Enriquez, a Sophomore forward from Aurora, Ill., helped the Cardinals pick up two conference wins over Wheaton College and Carthage College scoring two goals this past week. Enriquez netted the Cardinals third and final goal against Wheaton to top the Thunder 3-1 on Wednesday while putting away the Firebirds with a left footed strike in the Cardinals 3-1 win on Saturday. 

Marquardt, a Junior goalkeeper from Hartland, Wis., picked up his second Defensive Player of the Week award this season after posting a 2-0-0 record. Marquardt made two crucial saves in the first half of both games this past week, giving the Cardinals two wins. Marquardt holds a 9-0-2 record while ranking 19th nationally with five shutouts. 

The Cardinals (10-0-3, 3-0-0 CCIW) welcome the sixth-ranked North Park University Vikings on Wednesday night. The action is set to start at 7:30 pm inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
