Maddi Barickman tallied her 1,000th career assist at North Central while
Aidan Brown hit her 1,000th collegiate kill in the third set.
A kill from Abbi Barickman stopped a 6-0 run to open the match as the Cardinals found themselves down 10-2 early on. Back-to-back kills from Aidan Brown put North Central in double digits, but Hope took the first set, 25-10. The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-1 lead thanks to kills from Brown and Kendra Battle. Following a Hope run, Battle and Amber Vande Hei brought North Central within two, 8-6. The Flying Dutch went on a 6-0 rally to close out the second set with a 25-12 win.
A 5-1 run capped off with a kill from Abbi Barickman gave the Cardinals a 6-5 lead early in set three. The teams traded points until a Maddi Barickman service ace put North Central on top, 13-10. The Cardinals held their lead until Hope went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 24. Danni Moser's kill secured a 27-25 win for North Central to push the match into a fourth set.
Moser's second kill of the fourth set put the score at 3-3 before her first service ace of the season to give North Central an 11-9 lead. Hope answered to take an 18-16 advantage on their way to a 25-19 win of set three and a 3-1 victory for the match.
Brown tallied 12 kills on the day with two aces. Maddi Barickman dished out 29 assists while recording three assists. As a team, the Cardinals hit .112 over the four sets. Brown was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance over the two days.
The Cardinals return to CCIW play with the best conference record (4-1) and take on the second ranked team Carthage College (4-2 CCIW) on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. inside of Gregory Arena.
