CCIW Week 8 Student-Athletes of the Week

Oct. 25, 2022 - North Central College wide receiver DeAngelo Hardy was recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for games played Oct. 22, becoming the first Cardinal to receive the distinction on offense this season.

Hardy was selected on the strength of his efforts in North Central's 31-0 victory over then-No. 21/23 Washington University in St. Louis Saturday. The junior tied collegiate career bests for receptions (9) and touchdown catches (3) while putting up a season-high 160 receiving yards. Hardy leads the CCIW in touchdown receptions (9) and receiving yards per game (107.3) this season and ranks fourth in the Cardinals' history in touchdown catches (27) and receiving yards (2,346) while sitting sixth in receptions (136).

Hardy joins Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honorees BJ Adamchik and Dan Lester and Special Teams honoree Tanner Rains among the CCIW's weekly award winners this season.

Still ranked No. 1 by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), North Central (7-0, 6-0 CCIW) hosts North Park University (0-7, 0-6) Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. Click HERE for the full 2022 schedule.
