Oct. 3, 2022 - Posting a career-high of 26 points, 22 kills, and 18 digs on Wednesday, followed by 19 kills on Friday,
Aidan Brown of the North Central College women's volleyball team earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Hitter of the Week award for her stellar performance over the Cardinals' past two matches.
Brown, a junior from Sterling, Ill., led the CCIW in kills (41), kills per set (4.56), and points per set (5.39) for the week while being eighth in hitting percentage (.286). She also tallied five service aces on the week, ranking tenth in aces per set in the conference.
On the season, Brown registered 130 kills, 95 digs, 19 aces, and 11 block assists with a .199 hitting percentage over her 40 sets. She ranks third in the CCIW in kills per set at 3.25 for the season.
Brown is the first Cardinal this season to be named a CCIW Player of the Week and is the 20th in program history. Teammate Emily Stallmann received the recognition on Oct. 26th of last season for her performance on defense.
The Cardinals (8-4, 3-1 CCIW) head down to Bloomington to square off with No. 21 Illinois Wesleyan University (11-6, 2-1 CCIW) on Wednesday evening. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Shirk Center.
