NAPERVILLE, Ill (Oct. 7, 2022) - Opening the Tiffany Robinson Memorial Tournament on Friday night, the North Central College women's volleyball team stormed past Alma College in three sets in Gregory Arena to secure their 10th win of the season.

Kendra Battle's kill opened the match and set the tone as the Cardinals began with an 8-2 run. Not backing down, two straight kills from Aidan Brown extended their lead to 16-7 before an Amber Vande Hei kill gave North Central a 25-15 victory in the opening set.

A kill from Abbi Barickman, set up by her sister Maddi Barickman gave the Cardinals a 5-2 advantage early in the second set. The two teams traded points until Abbi Barickman sparked a 9-1 run to push North Central's lead to 11, 22-11. Closing out the second set was Brown's seventh kill of the match to give the Cardinals a 25-16 win in set two.

The third and final set saw the Scots jump to a 6-3 lead. North Central quickly retook the lead before a 6-0 run capped off with Maddi Barickman's fifth kill of the night to put the score at 15-11. Needing three points to clinch the match, Trinity Evans hit her career-best second ace of the night before Emma Happ sent home two kills as the Cardinals won the third set, 25-17, and the match, 3-0.

Brown tallied 14 kills on the night while Emily Stallmann recorded 16 digs over the three sets to lead the team. Maddi Barickman dished out 38 assists with a career-high five kills as well. She also notched two kills as did Evans and Taylor O'Malley. As a team, the Cardinals hit .287 while holding the Scots to .110.

North Central faces the University of Wisconsin-River Falls tomorrow on the final day of the Tiffany Robinson Memorial Tournament. The first serve is set to 1 p.m. inside of Gregory Arena.
