Brown, Barickman, Stallmann Named to All-CCIW Squad

Nov. 1, 2022 - Earning multiple first-team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selections for the first time since 1988, Aidan Brown and Maddi Barickman of the North Central College women's volleyball team are joined by second-team selection Emily Stallmann in the 2022 CCIW women's volleyball all-conference selections, voted on by the nine head coaches from each team.

Brown finished the conference slate with 3.84 kills per set, the second most in the CCIW. She also registered 93 digs, 10 total blocks, and 10 service aces while facing 194 serves with a .974 reception percentage. Three of Brown's kill totals sit in the top 10 for most kills in a match, including 22 against Elmhurst University on Sep. 27th. She earned back-to-back CCIW Player of the Week awards on Oct. 3rd and Oct. 10th.

Barickman led the CCIW in assists per set, averaging 9.72 over her 25 sets played. The sophomore also recorded 63 digs, 11 kills, nine service aces, and nine total blocks in conference play. Against Illinois Wesleyan University on Oct. 5th, Barickman posted a career-high 52 assists which tops the conference for assists in a match this season. On Oct. 10th, she was named a CCIW Player of the Week.

Earning all-conference recognition for the second straight season, Stallmann posted 4.91 digs per set and 0.61 services aces per set, both ranking third in the CCIW. She faced 165 serves with a .958 reception percentage over the eight conference matches. Her four aces against Augustana rank second in the CCIW for most aces in a three-set match this season.

Taylor O'Malley has been named North Central's RESPECT Award winner. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as integral members of the team, their institution, and their community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.

Brown and Barickman are the 12th and 13th first-team all-conference selections in program history, and the first since 2009.

The Cardinals host the quarterfinals of the 2022 CCIW Tournament tonight as they welcome Augustana College to Gregory Arena. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. with all-conference selections being honored prior to the match.
