Naperville, Ill. (Nov. 23, 2022) - Competing in their third dual of the season, the North Central College men's wrestling team dominate Carthage College 46-0 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) matchup on Wednesday evening at Gregory Arena. 

The Cardinals took an early 5-0 lead over the Firebirds as Christian Guzman beat Loren Semier by tech fall 18-0 3:52 into the match. Robert Precin would follow that up by pinning Carthage's Sebastian Rosales three minutes into the match. Joshua Cherba would keep the streak going with a win by decision over Carthage's Cole Nelson to give the Cardinals a 14-0 lead.

Javen Estrada won his match by pinning Carthage's River Rogers four minutes into the match. Jamaal Salary and Cole Cervantes would both win their matches by decision over Carthage's Wyatt Goorsky and Zaren Anderson. The Cardinals would continue to increase their lead, this time with Joey Jens winning by tech fall over Christian Gilbert and Payton Geigner winning by major decision over Devin Rogers. 

After the Firebirds took a forfeit at 197-pounds, Robby Bates would close out the evening with a dominating 19-0 tech fall win over Mason Kochersperger 3:30 into the match to give the Cardinals the 46-0 win over the Carthage College Firebirds. 

The North Central College men's wrestling team (3-0, 3-0 CCIW) return to the mats Saturday as they travel to UW-Lacrosse to compete in duals against Coe College and  UW-Lacrosse. First dual is set to start at 9am.
