2022 United Soccer Coaches' Men's Soccer Scholar All-America Teams
 
Dec. 15, 2022 – Aidan Westerberg of the North Central College men's soccer team added yet another accolade to his already impressive resume as he was named a First Team United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-Region and All-America Selection, the organization announced Thursday. 

Westerberg is the eighth Cardinal in program history to be honored on he United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-Region Teams while being the third Cardinal to be selected to the All-America First Team as Johnny Kraemer was selected to the First Team in 2021 and Jon Borzick was selected to the Third Team in 2017. 
 
Westerberg, a Junior from Belvidere, Ill, has received multiple postseason accolades while being selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and All-American First Teams. Westerberg finished the season with a 3.98 GPA as a Biochemistry major. 
 
On the field, Westerberg was named the 2022 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-CCIW selection. He scored a team high ten goals while dishing out five assists on the season. He scored a career high two goals and four points in the Cardinals 3-0 win over Elmhurst University while scoring a goal in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament which helped the Cardinals defeat UW-Superior to advance to the Round of 32 for the first time in program history. He was also selected to the United Soccer Coaches' All-Region First Team while being a Third Team All-America selection. 
 
North Central finished their season with a 17-1-4 record while being ranked tenth, the highest ranking in program history. The Cardinals won their first CCIW Regular Season Championship for the first time since 1994 while winning their second-straight CCIW Tournament title.
