Women's Basketball Closes Season at Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. (Feb. 22, 2022) - The North Central College women's basketball season saw its season come to a close in the first round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament Tuesday, absorbing a 100-58 loss to Carroll University at Van Male Arena.

The Pioneers' offense was humming all night, as the hosts made 13 of 18 shots (72.2 percent) from the floor in the opening period and ran out to a 32-18 advantage after the first quarter. The pressing, trapping attack persisted well into the second period as Carroll (19-6)  outscored the Cardinals, 49-24, after halftime.

North Central's scoring was led by Stephanie Kowalczyk, who came off the bench to total 14 points in 23 minutes, while IxChel Leeuwenburgh scored 10 points. 

The Cardinals finish their campaign with an overall record of 9-17.
