Women’s Lacrosse Soars Past Falcons, 16-5

MEQUON, Wis. (Mar. 5, 2022) - Traveling up north to Mequon, Wis. the North Central women's lacrosse program took down the Concordia University (Wis.) Falcons 16-5 this afternoon at Fitting Field. 

The Cardinals (1-1, 0-0 CCIW) jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back as they scored five of the first six goals of the game getting two from Tanya Czosek and Reese McMullen to take a commanding lead before heading into halftime with an 11-3 lead. The Falcons (0-1) opened up the second half with an early goal but the Cardinals offense was firing on all cylinders.

Czosek led the Cardinals with five goals while Julia Clark, McMullen and Lucy Culig each scored two goals in the contest. Berit Vandenbroucke dished out five assists while Mary Pinkowski tallied two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Abigail Widd tallied five saves in the contest as she moved to 1-1 on the season. 

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday Mar. 12 as they travel to Aurora University in a non-conference matchup. The opening face-off is set for 2:00 pm inside the Spartan Athletic Complex.
