ITA NCAA Division III Rankings

June 8, 2022 - After earning their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth and victory, the North Central College men's tennis team finishes the 2021-22 campaign ranked 9th in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization released on Wednesday.

North Central captured its second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Title and the first since 1961. They posted a 25-3 overall record while going a perfect 7-0 in CCIW play, both program records. In their first NCAA Tournament appearance, the Cardinals swept the University of Wisconsin-Superior, 5-0 on May 12th.

Concluding the season ranked seventh in the Central Region, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez tallied a 17-5 record in doubles play at the No. 1 position. Vilarroig Martinez also came in at No. 15 in the singles rankings with a record of 19-3 at the No. 1 spot.

North Central opens the 2022-23 season on Sept. 10th as they travel to Kenosha, Wis. for the CCIW Fall Tournament, hosted by Carthage College. To see the full 2022-23 schedule, click HERE.
