July 18, 2022 - The North Central College women's volleyball team was honored for its success in the classroom on Monday, as the United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2021-22 Team Academic Award winners.
The AVCA initiated the award in the 1992-93 academic year and it honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale in the classroom during the school year.
The Cardinals have now earned the distinction for the third consecutive season, and marks the fifth time in program history that North Central has earned the USMC/AVCA team academic award.
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) found representation in seven member institutions as North Central is joined by Augustana College, Carthage College, Elmhurst University, Millikin University, North Park University, and Wheaton College
North Central is set to open the 2022 season at the Dubuque River City Classic on Sept. 2nd. The Cardinals will face the University of Dubuque, Wisconsin Lutheran College, and Knox College in the two-day event. To see their entire 2022 schedule, click
