2022 D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams
Aug. 16, 2022 - North Central College football players Dan Gilroy, Ethan Greenfield and DeAngelo Hardy have been honored with selections to the 2022 D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams.
Greenfield is one of two running backs named to the All-America First Team, while Hardy also makes the First Team as one of two wide receivers and Gilroy is one of two defensive ends on the Second Team. North Central joins the national champion University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), the University of Mount Union (Ohio), Lake Forest College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York) as the only teams with two First Team honorees.
Greenfield led all NCAA Division III players in rushing yards for the second straight year in 2021 (1,796) and scored 24 touchdowns, establishing new North Central career records for rushing yards (4,678), all-purpose yards (5,478) and points scored (396), while Hardy ranked second in CCIW in touchdown receptions (12), third in receiving yards (1,009) and fifth in total receptions (51). Gilroy was the team's leader in tackles for loss (15.5) and quarterback sacks (8.5).
Ranked No. 2 in D3football.com's National Preseason Top 25 Poll, North Central went 13-1 and advanced to the program's second straight national championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. The 2022 campaign opens Sept. 10 at Wabash College. Kickoff at Little Giant Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
