KENOSHA, Wis. (Sept. 2, 2022) – The North Central College women's cross country team went up against teams across all divisions in their debut race of the 2022 season, finishing sixth overall at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Vic Godfrey Open on Friday.
Julia Benes was the first Cardinal to cross through the line, completing the four kilometer course in 15 minutes, fifty-six point one second to finish 21st overall. Just behind Benes was
Nicole Brandy (15:59.0) finishing in 23
rd.
Not far behind Benes and Brandy were
Julianne Billings (16:05.2) and
Miranda Baker (16:09.4) who crossed together in 28
th and 29
th place, respectively.
Natalie Nestler (16:44.6) came in 42nd-place, while
Emmy Mussey (16:55.7) finished in 46
th.
Lauren Belvel (17:03.6) rounded out the Cardinals' top-seven finishers in 48th-place.
Michigan Tech won the meet with 48 points, followed by the University of Findlay with 51 points, not too far ahead of Loyola University's 67 points to place third. Ball State placed 4th with 85 points. Host, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, placed fifth with 123 points, while North Central's 136 points placed sixth, and Wisconsin- Concordia finished seventh with 205 points.
The Cardinals travel to the familiar course, St. James Farm, for the Gill Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College on Sept. 17. Race time is set for 10 a.m.
