Sept. 8, 2022 – The North Central College men's cross country team has secured its first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week Award with Nathan Halbrader earning this week's honor. The CCIW announced its selection on Tuesday.
 
Halbrader was the Cardinals' top finisher at the Earlybird Invitational in Elmhurst, Ill. on Friday, placing first overall out of 180 competitors and completing the 8-kilometer course in a time of 19 minutes and 34.5 seconds. North Central finished first out of nine teams in their opening race of the season, scoring a low total of 21 points.

Until then, Halbrader and the Cardinals will head to North Chicago, Ill. on Sept. 9th for the Lake Forest Invitational with the race time at the Foss Park Golf Course set for 4:00 p.m.
