Jan. 30, 2023 - Natalie Grolmes, Hailey Poe, and Scarlett Schuth have been named First Team Scholar All-Americans by the College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) and USA Triathlon. As a team, the Cardinals earned Scholar All-American honors as well.

To earn the individual honor, student-athletes must finish in the top 20 at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships and have a grade-point average above a 3.5. Team awards are given to squads with a team GPA above a 3.2.

Poe, who won the Individual National Title for the second straight season, completed the course in one hour, 10 minutes, and 47 seconds to beat the rest of the DIII field by nearly four minutes, She is an ethical leadership and sport management major from Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.

Schuth took home fourth place at Nationals with a time of one hour, 14 minutes, and 52 seconds. The chemistry major from Lemont, Illinois was a First Team All-American selection for her fourth-place finish.

Grolmes, who finished with a time of one hour, 19 minutes, and 16 seconds, took 15th place at the Nationals. The environmental studies major from Lindenhurst, Illinois also earned honorable mention All-American for her performance.

North Central was one of four institutions to claim multiple First Team CTCA Scholar All-Americans. The Cardinals won their fourth Division III National Championship this past fall with a score of 215 points, 14 ahead of last year's champion, Trine University.
