Oct. 10, 2023 - Jack Fairwood of the North Central College men's soccer team has been claimed the Offensive Player of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). This is the first time in Fairwood's career he has received this award. He is also the third Cardinal player to receive a Player of the Week award this season.

Fairwood, a fifth year from Carpentersville, Illinois, has led the Cardinals to a win against Carthage College and a tie against Wheaton. On Wednesday night against Wheaton, Fairwood helped the Cardinals by scoring the tying goal in a heroic fashion in the last minute of the game.

On Saturday afternoon, Fairwood scored the go-ahead goal for the Cardinals and continued being a threat on offense, assisting in the third goal for the Cardinals.

Fairwood has tallied four goals and three assists this season. He currently has 12 goals, 10 assists, and two game winning goals in his overall career as a Cardinal.

The Cardinals are currently 11-1-1 on the season and sit in second place in the CCIW standings. North Central leads the conference in shots (186), points (116), goals (44), and assists (28).

Fairwood and the Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Chicago, Illinois, to take on North Park University at 7 p.m. View the teams full season schedule HERE.
