CCIW Week 10 Student-Athletes of the Week
Nov. 13, 2023 - Achieving unique status within the North Central College football program with his effort in the Cardinals' regular-season finale, North Central College wide receiver DeAngelo Hardy has earned the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's (CCIW) final Offensive Football Student-Athlete of the Week award of the 2023 campaign. North Central claimed 10 of the CCIW's weekly accolades this season, three of which were claimed by Hardy.
In Saturday's 61-17 victory at Augustana College, Hardy finished with seven receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns while adding a six-yard touchdown run and a one-yard touchdown pass, becoming the first player in the Cardinals' history to record a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game. Hardy's performance enabled the Cardinals to build a 41-3 lead by halftime and finish a third straight unbeaten regular season. For the season, Hardy has caught 46 passes for 947 yards and 15 touchdowns, ranking seventh nationally in touchdown catches and 14th in yards per reception (20.59). He ranks second in the Cardinals' history in receptions (217), receiving yards (3,847), receiving touchdowns (53) and total touchdowns (60).
Quarterback Luke Lehnen also received three CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week Awards this season, while receiver/returner Joey Lombardi was recognized twice and kicker Sean Ryniec was selected once on special teams and linebacker Zack Orr was so honored on defense.
The Cardinals (9-0, 8-0 CCIW) have claimed at least one Student-Athlete of the Week winner in seven of the last eight weeks. Receiver DeAngelo Hardy has been recognized twice on offense, while linebacker Zack Orr has been honored on defense and kicker Sean Ryniec has been selected on special teams.
