Nov 14, 2023 – North Central College men's wrestling team faced off against Carthage College to continue Conference College of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) competition. The Cardinals defeated Carthage 41-3 and continued their conference dual win streak to 44 wins.
The first three matches of the dual were decided by a technical fall. Ethan Spacht in the 125 weight-class won with a 17-2 technical fall, Jad Alwawi won the 133-weight class with a 19-4 technical fall, and Kayle Bearson won with a 15-0 technical fall in the 141 weight-class.
In the 149 weight-class Kenny Siwicki defeated River Rogers with an 8-0 major decision.
The next two matches ended in technical falls also with Armando Murillo in the 165-weight class winning 20-3 and Casey Aikman winning 17-2. Payton Geigner in the 184 weight-class won by a 10-0 major decision over Devin Rogers. David Pirozhnik picked up a win in the 197 weight-class with a lightning-fast 19-4 technical fall in 2:49. Nelosn Toro bested Mason Kochersperger with a 10-3 decision.
The Cardinals travel to Wisconsin on Saturday as they compete in the Concordia University Open. A season ago, eight wrestlers placed at this meet.
