Nov. 1, 2023 – The North Central College women's soccer team opened the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) tournament in the semi-finals against Millikin University, charging through 6-1 earning their third straight tournament finals appearance.

North Central (17-2, 8-0 CCIW) looked to continue their offensive dominance over Millikin (7-6-4, 2-2-4 CCIW) after their regular season 3-0 victory over them on the road.

The Cardinals eased into the half with their first shot on target coming ten minutes in with a shot from Jordan Lange that was saved by Sophie Dorgan at goal.

North Central finally found room for Lange to connect with Yazmin Martinez in the 16th minute for the first goal of the game.

Up one goal, the Cardinals found room again ten minutes later, as Kaitlyn Cannon connected with Elle Sutter in stride for her first goal of the match putting them up 2-0.

Millikin struggled to maintain possession but, found their first shot on goal in the 32nd minute forcing Jordan Boyd's only save of the game.

With a minute and a half to go, Lange fired a shot past Dorgan to ease the Cardinals to a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Entering the last half, North Central did not let up as just five minutes in, Lange found room again for her second goal of the game quickly making the score 4-0.

Millikin continued to feel the pressure as the Cardinals continued to pepper their defensive zone culminating in a relaying effort from, Sarah Andrey and Katie Huey to set up Sutter for her second goal of the match in the 56th minute.

As the score slipped away from Millikin, North Central found a gap for the final time in the 62nd minute as Kaitlyn Cannon setup Andrey to force the score 6-0.

The clock continued to tick down as the Big Blues did not find a scoring opportunity until just thirty seconds left in regulation, when Bailee Blecker snuck a shot past Boyd to seal the score 6-1.

In total the Cardinals took a whopping thirty-six shots forcing twelve saves from Dorgan while, Millikin was nearly shutout with only four shots with two on target.
