Nov. 6, 2023 - Taking home three All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin awards,
Maddi Barickman (First Team),
Abbi Barickman (Second Team), and
Amber Vande Hei (Second Team) of the North Central College women's volleyball team have been honored by the league for their performance this season.
Earning her second straight First Team All-CCIW accolade, M. Barickman finished the conference slate as the league leader in assists per set with 9.18 in her 33 sets played. She also ranked second on the team with 86 digs and seven service aces against CCIW competition. M. Barickman tallied 18 total blocks and 27 kills as a setter with a .217 hitting percentage. She led all setters with three CCIW Setter of the Week awards this season.
Leading the CCIW in blocks per set at 1.33, Vande Hei earned her first All-CCIW selection by racking up 36 total blocks (12 solo and 24 assists) during conference play. She also recorded 39 kills with a .208 hitting percentage. In the North Central match vs Millikin, Vande Hei racked up nine total blocks (five solo and four assists) which tied the most in a single CCIW match this season. Vande Hei is the first Cardinal middle blocker named an All-Conference player since 2017 (Anna Billman).
Ranking fifth in the CCIW in kills per set (3.22) and points per set (3.48), A. Barickman earned her first All-Conference accolade. The junior also tallied 64 digs and 11 total blocks in league play. She totaled 17 kills in the Cardinals match vs Millikin which is the sixth-most in a four-set CCIW match this season.
With this year's All-Conference recipients, the Cardinals have earned 75 All-CCIW awards in program history.
