College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Teams
CSC Academic All-America Teams List
Dec. 19, 2023 - Adding to his already impressive resume, both on and off the field,
Aidan Westerberg of the North Central College men's soccer team has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2023 NCAA Division III Academic All-America First Team.
He is one of 34 student-athletes in NCAA Division III to be selected to the All-America Teams while being one of two student-athletes to be selected three straight years. Westerberg is the only Cardinal in program history to be selected as a CSC Academic All-American. In 2022, he was named to the First-Team and in 2021 he was named to the Third-Team.
Westerberg, a Belvidere native, posted a 3.98 GPA as a Biochemistry major while being one of six student athletes from the men's soccer program named to the NCAA Division III CSC Academic All-District Team. This was also the third year in a row Westerberg has been named to the Academic All-District Team.
The senior was also named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-American Third-Team earlier this month. A few weeks prior, Westerberg and teammate
Jack Fairwood were named to the USC Scholar All-Region Team. Westerberg was named to the First-Team while Fairwood was named to the Third-Team.
On the field, Westerberg was a dangerous weapon for the Cardinals. He holds the program record for most career assists (20). In the 2023 season, he tallied 11 assists alone, while also leading the team in goals (10). He was named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) First Team in October and in 2022 was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Year.
Westerberg will go out as one of the most distinguished student-athletes in the program's history.
