AVCA Rankings

Feb. 7, 2023 - The North Central College men's volleyball team starts its climb in the national rankings coming in at No. 10 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The AVCA released its latest rankings on Tuesday.

The Cardinals improved their record to 4-2 after taking down the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders (1-2) in a swift 3-0 match last Tuesday at home before taking a week-long break between contests.

Stevens (11-1) claims its spot at the top of the rankings list with Juniata (10-0) following close behind at the No. 2 rank. Springfield (7-1), Vassar (5-1), and St. John Fisher (9-3) made big headway in the rankings moving up to third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Messiah (7-1) fell to sixth while Carthage (5-3) dropped one spot to seventh. Nazareth (10-0) held its spot at No. 9 while North Central (4-2) jumped two spots to No. 10. NYU (5-1), UC Santa Cruz (12-3), Mount Union (8-1), Lasell (4-2) and Rutgers-Newark (4-2) rounded out the AVCA's top-15 teams.

The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 8 as they travel to Mequon, Wis. for a non-conference match versus Concordia University (Wis.). The contest is set for 7 p.m. inside Buuck Field House.
