Mar. 27, 2023 - After a busy week of conference action, North Central College men's volleyball has swept the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) weekly awards with
Jared Moser earning Hitter of the Week honors, while
Tyler Donovan claims his fourth Setter of the Week award this season. The CCIW announced its selections on Monday.
The Cardinals (18-3) currently lead the CCIW with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play after taking down Illinois Wesleyan University 3-1 on Wednesday, Loras College 3-0 on Saturday, and Augustana College 3-0 on Sunday, marking a 10-match winning streak.
Moser played in the two matches against Loras and Augustana this past weekend, recording 27 kills and only one error across six sets. He hit for .578 overall while knocking down three blocks.
Donovan continues to impress this season, as he put up a 10.60 assists per set average across the week's three matches for a total of 106 assists. He also recorded four kills, three aces, 20 digs, and five blocks. Donovan currently leads the conference and the nation with his 10.43 assists/set average on the year.
North Central travels to Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 1 to battle the No. 6 Carthage College Firebirds who they defeated 3-0 earlier this season. Match time in the Tarble Arena is set for 3 p.m.
