Mar. 28, 2023 - The North Central College men's volleyball team moves up one spot to No. 6 in the national rankings according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) latest installment while Jared Moser was named to the FrogJump Team of the Week.

The Cardinals are 18-3 on the season and currently lead the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) with an undefeated 8-0 record after sweeping Loras College (15-4, 4-3 CCIW) on Saturday and Augustana College (10-10, 1-6 CCIW) on Sunday. 

North Central leads the nation in kills per set average with 13.24 and is third in assists per set (12.07). Tyler Donovan, a junior setter, leads NCAA Division III in assists (10.43) while Jeremy Cardenas ranks third in blocks per set (1.239) and fifth in hitting percentage (.452).

Stevens (26-2) remains the top team in the country with Vassar (17-1), Juniata (22-2), Springfield (20-2), and Messiah (20-2) rounding out the top five. Carthage (14-5) is ranked No. 9 and is the only other CCIW school to appear in the top 15.

Moser hit .578 on the week with 27 kills, six digs, three blocks, and three aces in North Central's three wins this week. Moser ranks eighth in the country with 3.98 kills per set and is 22nd in all of DIII with a .362-hitting percentage on the year.

North Central will travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin to take on No. 9 Carthage College in Tarble Arena at 3 p.m., looking to sweep the Firebirds in the season series.
