2023 CSC Academic All-District Tennis Teams

May 9, 2023 - Following one of the best seasons in program history, Kayla McSweeney and Nina Patience of the North Central College women's tennis team have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition for their work in the classroom and on the tennis court.

Nominated by members of CSC, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

Patience tallied a 16-7 record in singles play with a 6-0 record in conference play. She posted an 18-8 mark in doubles action with a perfect 7-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin record. 

McSweeney earned her spot as North Central's No. 6 singles player. Overall, she went 12-7 on the year with a 4-0 in CCIW play. In doubles competition, McSweeney went 6-2 with one win in conference action. The duo of McSweeny and Patience teamed up for two doubles matches together, winning both with victories over Lake Forest College and Concordia University Chicago.

Patience and McSweeney are the first Cardinals in program history to earn this distinction. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 1.
