September 12, 2023 - Matteo Innocenti earned the first Offensive Player of The Week, awarded by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), for the North Central men's soccer in the 2023 season. This is the second time in Innocenti's career that he has received this award, the first being on Oct. 25, 2022.
 
Innocenti, a sophomore from Rome, Italy, led the Cardinal offense this week. He tallied four goals in three games, along with one assist and nine points. Innocenti leads the Cardinals overall in goals (5), points (12), and is tied for second in assists on the team. The Cardinal defense has kept their opponents to one goal or less in their first five games of the season.
 
Innocenti and the Cardinals are back in Benedetti Wehrli Stadium on Friday, Sept. 15 as they take on #13 Ohio Northern University at 7:30 p.m. View the Cardinals full season schedule HERE.
