Women’s Volleyball to Host "Rock the House" Night

Contact: Nicholas Osterloo, Assistant Sports Information Director, 630-637-5324

Sept. 26, 2023 -  Hosting the first-ever "Rock The House: Live In Gregory Arena" night on October 6th at 7 p.m., the North Central College women's volleyball team is honoring the past, present, and future of women's volleyball at North Central and in Naperville while hoping to set a program record in attendance with over 1,000 spectators.

"If we set a new program attendance record, it would show just how much the sport of volleyball is growing," Anna Gawron said. "Lately, there have been many attendance records broken across all divisions of volleyball and it has impacted the volleyball community as a whole. At North Central, it would show the interests of those on campus expanding and the program would feel so much support from the community!"

The Cardinals' theme for this season is Rock 'n' #RollCards based around creating energy, being in the moment, and bringing people together, much like a concert does.

"As a team, we want to reflect the true meaning of Rock and Roll which is all about being passionate, getting in sync, and sharing the stage. Rock n Roll also brings this fiery energy that our team wants to capture and then "perform" on the court this season, whether it's during practice or a game. We want to play as one, just like a band does when they perform," Taylor O'Malley said.

The match will feature free admission along with Naperville's own DJ Advantage providing the pregame music. The North Central Bookstore will have a "pop-up shop" on-site for fans to purchase all of their Cardinal gear.

"I am looking forward to seeing all alumni who have helped shape this program into what it is today," Aidan Brown said. "Being able to all be under the same roof supporting a sport we love will be rewarding. I think Rock The House will be a great example of the family aspect that North Central instills."

The Cardinals take on Concordia University Chicago in a non-conference battle. North Central has won 25 consecutive matches against the Cougars and holds a 31-4 advantage in the all-time series.
