Jan. 29, 2024 - North Central College men's volleyball setter Tyler Donovan has been named a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Student-Athlete of the Week for the sixth time in his illustrious career, the league announced on Monday. 

Donovan led the CCIW this week in assists per set (10.75) while ranking third in digs per set (3.13), and eighth in both blocks per set (0.88) and service aces (0.38). For the year, he ranks first in the league for total assists (125) and second in assists per set (8.93).

The Cardinals fell in a five-set thriller on Friday night to No. 3 California Lutheran University before sweeping No. 16 Benedictine University to claim the Christian Staple Battle of Chicago & Maple. This marks the Cardinals' fifth straight victory over the Eagles.

The CCIW separated Defensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week at the start of the 2024 season. Donovan racked up four Defensive/Setter of the Week awards last year before earning back-to-back Setter of the Week accolades to begin this season. Jared Moser and Austin Scott join him as current Cardinals to earn a CCIW Player of the Week honor. 

North Central is back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 30 as the Cardinals host Aurora University. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Gregory Arena.
