LISLE, Ill. (Oct. 12, 2024) - Hosting two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opponents today, the North Central College women's tennis team claimed two sweeps by defeating Illinois Wesleyan University in the morning before taking down Elmhurst University in the nightcap.

Abigail Penados and Kensington Payne rolled to a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot. After the Titans won at No. 3, Priya Harris and Ainara Casado Cedillo clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win at the No. 2 position. Harris and Casado Cedillo each locked up straight set victories before Payne secured the team win with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2. Penados, Kate Herlihy and Kayla McSweeney also earned wins to lock up the sweep of Illinois Wesleyan.

In the second match of the day, Penados/Payne won 6-0 with Harris/Casado Cedillo winning 6-0 at No. 2. Meghan McSweeney and Eva Zaskowski teamed up to earn a 6-1 win at the No. 3 doubles fixture. Penados, Payne, Harris, Casado Cedillo, Herlihy and Zaskowski each won in straight sets to secure the 7-0 victory over the Bluejays.

North Central takes on league-leading North Park University with a chance to earn a share of the CCIW Championship with a victory. That match is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the College of DuPage Tennis Courts.
