Oct. 28, 2024 - North Central College quarterback Luke Lehnen has been honored with a selection as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Football Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after accounting for all seven of the Cardinals' touchdowns in a win at Augustana College.
Lehnen threw for five touchdowns and ran for two more in North Central's 49-10 victory at Lindberg Stadium Saturday, establishing a single-game program record for most touchdowns responsible for. The graduate student has accounted for 184 touchdowns in his collegiate career (44 rushing, 140 passing), which surpasses the all-time NCAA Division III record of 178 previously set by Central College's (Iowa) Blaine Hawkins from 2017-2021.
Now a seven-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week, Lehnen completed 10 of 16 passes for 177 yards while running for 103 yards on just six attempts. He is the Division III national leader in passing efficiency (208.6) this season while also leading the CCIW in touchdown passes (21) and rushing touchdowns (8), and is the current all-divisions active leader in career passing efficiency (211.2) while leading all active Division III players in passing touchdowns (140) and total offensive yards (13,696).
North Central has claimed five total CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week awards this season. Running back Joe Sacco and Lehnen were recognized on offense after a 48-21 win at Aurora University and a 55-27 triumph over Wheaton College, respectively, while linebacker BJ Adamchik and kicker Sean Ryniec were so honored following a 69-0 Homecoming victory over North Park University Oct. 19.
