Nov. 1, 2024 - Tommaso Polidori and Jared Urueta of the North Central College men's soccer team have been named to the 2024 All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams, the organization announced this afternoon. Additionally, Peter Kimba was named the CCIW Respect Award winner for the Cardinals.
 
Sophomore defender Polidori was selected to the All-CCIW First Team for the first time in his career. Polidori has recorded three goals on the season, including a game-winning goal in the Cardinal's 1-0 shutout against Albion College early in the season (Sept. 8). Last season, the Rome, Italy, native was named to the second team, and was named the CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
Senior Urueta received All-CCIW Second Team accolades after his huge impact on the Cardinal's offense this season. Urueta leads the offense with six goals this season, including two game-winning goals against Trine University (Sept. 6) and Knox College (Sept. 18). The Wheeling native's most recent goal was against Wheaton College Wednesday (Oct. 30), helping to seal the Cardinals win. This is the first time he has been named to an All-CCIW team.
 
This year, Peter Kimba was named the CCIW Respect Award Recipient for North Central. Respect Award recipients distinguish themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and their community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The Respect Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourage inclusiveness and a positive culture.
 
North Central will take on Millikin University at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in Decatur, Ill., for the first round of the CCIW Tournament. For more information, click HERE.
