2024 Women's Volleyball All-CCIW Team
Nov. 11, 2024 - Earning two of the four student-athlete of the year awards in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin,
Maddi Barickman (Setter of the Year) and
Bailey Houlihan highlight the 2024 All-Conference selections for the North Central College women's volleyball team.
Abbi Barickman and
Amber Vande Hei each received Second Team accolades as well.
The Cardinals' first-ever CCIW Setter of the Year, M. Barickman, averaged 9.67 assists per set, which leads the league. She also ranked first with the most assists in a three-set match amongst conference competition, with 33 assists in the 3-0 victory over No. 9 Millikin University. Overall, her 55 assists vs. Carthage were the third most in CCIW play this season. The now three-time All-CCIW selection tallied 97 digs and 10 aces in league play as well.
Houlihan earned her First Team All-CCIW honor by leading the conference in digs per set with 5.88 while ranking sixth in service aces per set at 0.48. She racked up 33 digs against Carthage College and Illinois Wesleyan University, the second most in a single match in the league this season. Houlihan's five aces against Elmhurst University were the sixth most in a CCIW match this season.
Now a two-time All-CCIW selection, A. Barickman ranked fifth in the league with 3.70 points per contest and seventh with 3.24 kills per set. Her 17 kills in the program's first-ever sweep of a Top 10 team (Millikin), was the third most in a three-set match this season.
Vande Hei, also a two-time honoree, finished the conference slate ranked third in hitting percentage (.314) and fourth in blocks per set (0.96). Against Augustana College, Vande Hei hit 0.571 on the night, the fifth best mark amongst league competition for a single match. Her seven blocks vs Elmhurst were the third most in a match this season as well.
The No. 4 Cardinals host No. 5 North Park University on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the CCIW Tournament. North Central is 9-1 inside Gregory Arena this season, including a 3-1 victory over the Vikings. The first serve is set for 7 p.m.
