Nov. 17, 2024 – The North Central College men's soccer team saw four of its athletes named to the NCAA Division III College Sports Communicator (CSC) Academic All-District Team announced on Tuesday. Players are nominated by members of the CSC.
 
The four athletes nominated were Cardinal defenders Peter Kimba, Davis Nelson, Tommaso Polidori, and J.P. Saux.
 
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least sophomores with a 3.50 or higher grade point average. Athletically, nominees must compete in 90 percent of games played or start in at least 66 percent of games played.
 
Nelson has been named to the All-District Team for the third consecutive season. The Wisconsin native started and played in all 21 games this season. The economics major led the Cardinals' backline, which allowed only 17 goals this season. Against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Nelson was one of just five players who played all 110 minutes of the game (Nov. 16).
 
Kimba, a human resource management major, also played and started in all 21 games for the Cardinals. The senior recorded one assist on the season against North Park University (Nov. 11) and was named the RESPECT Award winner for North Central.
 
Saux, a sophomore from Peru, played in 18 games this season, starting in 15 of them. The international business major recorded his first collegiate career goal against Wheaton College on Oct. 30. Saux was another one of the five players who played for the entry of the Cardinal's 110-minute game against UW-Platteville.
 
A Roman native, Polidori played and started in 19 of the Cardinals' 21 games. The business economic major scored three goals this season while recording one assist. Polidori was named to the First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Last year, Polidori was named the Second Team All-CCIW and named CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year.

A select number of Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-American ballot. The 2024 CSC Academic All-America Teams will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 10.
 
North Central finished the 2024 season with a record of 10-5-6. The Cardinals won their third CCIW Tournament title in four years and made their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.
