WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 7, 2024)- Getting one final tune-up before the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship, the North Central College women's cross country team participated in the Red/White Invitational, a three-mile race, where they placed second of three teams. 

The Cardinals scored 40 points in their second-place finish, trailing Washington University in St. Louis, who finished with 21. The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago finished third with 85 points. 

As she has all season long, Julia Benes led the Cardinals, placing second overall with a time of 17 minutes and 20.65 seconds. Lily Anderson placed seventh with a time of 17 minutes and 47.13 seconds, and Segilola Smith-Pariola captured 16th place, clocking in a time of 18:17.26. 

Brianna Ruiz (18:32.21) finished behind Smith-Pariola in 17th place, and a run of Cardinals would begin in the 20s. Paige Runkle (19:08.14) reached 21st place, Emma Cecich (19:15.35) in 22nd, Olivia Parmelee (19:25.53) placed 23rd, and Natalie Nestler (20:10.82) got 24th place. Kamryn Neer was the final Cardinal to participate, as she finished in 32nd place with a time of 21:11.87. 

North Central has a nine-day break before they return to action Saturday, Nov. 16 for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Rock Island, Ill. The race is set to begin at 11 a.m. Click HERE for the full schedule.
