Dec. 3, 2024 - For the fifth consecutive year, the North Central College men's soccer team has multiple student-athletes named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region Team. Tommaso Polidori was selected to the third team, while Daniel Szalai and Jared Urueta were named to the fourth team. All three athletes earned this distinction for the first time in their careers.
 
North Central now has 16 athletes selected to the USC All-Region Team since 2016.
 
Polidori, a sophomore defender from Rome, Italy, scored three goals and recorded one assist while playing 19 games for the Cardinals. He was named a First-Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) honoree for the 2024 season. Last year, Polidori was named the 2023 First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year and was selected as a member of the Second-Team All-CCIW.
 
Szalai, a freshman goalkeeper from Mississauga, Ontario, played and started in 10 games for North Central this season. He tallied 28 saves while earning a record of 6-2-2. On Nov. 5, Szalai was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Urueta, a senior midfielder from Wheeling, Ill., played in 20 games for the Cardinals and started in 19. Urueta led the North Central offense with seven goals this season and was named a Second-Team All-CCIW honoree.
 
North Central finished the season with a 10-5-6 (4-3-1 CCIW) record, claiming the CCIW Tournament Title and making their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
