Feb. 13, 2024 - The North Central College men's volleyball team holds steady at No. 10 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association's top-20 poll, while
Cooper Lundal and Danny Smither were named to FrogJump Team of the Week.

Lundal recorded a season-high of 14 kills and 15 points against Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) to help the Cardinals win 3-1 Feb. 15. Lundal ranks third on the team for kills this season (59) behind
Austin Scott (60) and
Jared Moser (85).
Danny Smithers, Cardinals libero, set a new program record with 22 digs in a four set match and tied
Parker Nelson for No. 1 in single-match digs. Smithers had zero reception errors and held a passing rate of 2.4 against MSOE.

Additionally, FrogJump Volleyball released their updated poll Sunday evening. North Central moved up one spot to No. 7.

In the AVCA weekly ranking, the top-10 ranked teams standstill with no institutions moving among the poll this week.

Wentworth Institute of Technology (11-0) prolonged their domination in the rankings, holding the No. 1 rank for the fourth consecutive week. Stevens Institute of Technology (13-1) continues to pursue Wentworth at No. 2. Meanwhile, Southern Virginia University (9-0) holds tight to No. 3, with Springfield College (9-1) close behind.

California Lutheran University (11-3) is ranked No. 5, followed by Vassar University (8-2) at No. 6 and St. John Fisher (13-1) at No. 7.

Loras College (7-0), a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) representative, sits at No. 8. Nazareth University (10-0) holds No. 9, while North Central (5-2) closes out the top-10.

Carthage College (6-4) is the final representative of the CCIW, moving up one spot to No. 12.

North Central is on the road this week as they head to the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. The Cardinal's first game is Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8 pm (EST) in Ursrung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
