Feb. 27, 2024 - Tyler Donovan and Caelan Koth of the North Central College men's volleyball program were named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.
 
Last week, North Central earned their second consecutive 3-0 week. The Cardinals took down North Park University 3-1 Thursday night (Feb. 22). Then North Central traveled to Chicago, Ill., where they swept the University of Mount Union and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on Saturday evening.
 
Donovan led the CCIW and the Cardinals with 11.13 assists per set. Donovan recorded a season-high of four kills and 7.5 points against North Park on Thursday. He has recorded 413 assists in 44 sets played this season. This is the second consecutive week the senior has been named the CCIW Setter of the Week and the fourth time this season.
 
Koth has earned his first CCIW Defensive Player of the Week award in his career. Koth led the CCIW and North Central with 28 digs. He recorded eight digs against Mount Union and ten digs against North Park and IIT. On Saturday, Koth recorded new season highs against Mount Union with nine kills and 11.5 points. Koth had two more season highs later in the day against IIT as he tallied two service aces and one assist.
 
Members of the Cardinal program have been the recipients of CCIW Player of the Week Awards seven times this season.
 
Donovan, Koth, and their Cardinal teammates are back in Gregory Arena at 7 pm Wednesday, Feb. 28, when the Cardinals take on No. 12 Carthage College.
