Mar. 23, 2024 - Taking on Loras College in their final dress rehearsal before College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play begins, the North Central College men's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 win over the Duhawks before sweeping Elmhurst University for the ninth time in a row on Saturday inside Naperville Tennis Club.

Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Wyatt Crowell earned an 8-1 win at doubles with Daniel Estanislao and Daniel Urraca Mozos teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 2. Completing the doubles sweep was Matt Crossland and Ned Curley who took care of business at No. 3 with an 8-1 win. North Central picked up wins at No. 1-No. 5 to secure the 8-1 win as Matthew Sengphommachanh, Crowell, Rafael Lessa, and Henry Ros all won in straight sets.

Taking on Elmhurst for senior night, Sengphommachanh and Vilarroig Martinez cruised to an 8-1 win while Lessa and Estanislao won, 8-0 at No. 2. In the No. 3 position, Crossland and Curley won by default. Vilarroig Martinez, Sengphommachanh, Crowell, Estanislao, and Urraca Mozos all won 6-0, 6-0 with Brian Gambuzza winning by default at No. 6.

The Cardinals take on Carthage College at 11 a.m. on Friday at Benet Academy Tennis Courts in a crucial CCIW matchup.
