ELMHURST, Ill. (Jan. 16, 2025) - The North Central College women's wrestling team extended their perfect College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) record to 3-0 after defeating Elmhurst University 27-11.
 
The Blue Jays started the dual up 5-0 after the Cardinals forfeited the 103-pound bout. North Central dropped the 110 class match-up, and Elmhurst took a 10-0 lead. Both teams forfeited the 117 class before North Central jumped to a 20-10 lead from Blue Jay forfeits. Aroma Marrufo (124), Gracie Guarino (131), Taylor Miess (138), and Claire Waite (145) all accepted the wins for the Cardinals. Alondra Morales defeated Yareli Ortega with a swift 15-0 technical fall in the 160 class, followed by Sadie Hill taking down Clara Rice with a 9-2 decision in the 180 division. The dual ended with both teams forfeiting the 207 weight class. North Central defeated Elmhurst 27-11.
 
The Cardinals will compete in the Indiana Tech Warrior Open at 9 a.m. (ET) Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility in Fort Wayne, Ind.
